Attacking Nouns

Apparently, within the last 50 years, it has become somewhat popular to declare war on nouns. And more specifically, ideas. Not persons, objects, or places, but ideas. In 1964, during his State of the Union, Lyndon B. Johnson declared, “War on Poverty.” In 2001, recently after the 9/11 “attacks” on the twin towers, George W. Bush declared, “War on Terrorism.” Neither of these topics will end, ever. They are a part of our world as we know it. In order to have good, evil must exist. In order to have rich, poor much exist. And as time passes, each increases to an extremity, the good getting better, evil getting worse, the rich getting richer, and the poor getting more poor. But! There is hope! In my new world order! Anyone wishing to donate $1,000,000 to my cause? =D

Dagorhir Unit?

We’ve been thinking about forming our own unit, dubbed with the name “Peasant Brigade.” It’ll rock. We will probably need some more unit members before it become official. Continue reading

Moleskine

I love these things. They’re little booklets/notebooks that contain a brown tinted paper, and makes everything you write down, beautiful. The ones that are pictured to the left are called Cahiers, and come in packs of three. They generally run for $6.95 at Borders and Barnes & Nobles. The binding is made out of a cardboard, and bends to fit the shape of your leg while in your pocket for extended periods of time. I would recommend them to anyone that thinks of ideas at anytime throughout the day, where regular pen and paper are not available, and a small notebook can fit in your pocket.

Possible name change

I happened to be checking my 1and1 admin, and realized that my current “Domain Balance” was 2. This excited me to no extent. I get 2 FREE domain names. Now, my only worry is picking out the names. I was thinking about changing the site’s name to isLamp, after recently naming this template that, but some… greedy bastards, bought the name, and are selling it under the company BuyDomains. How great is that? I put in a request to find out how much it would be, and they haven’t gotten back to me yet. They said that it would generally cost between $688 and $1,000,000. Great…

So until then, I am trying to create creative little names and sayings associated with “Lamp.” Hopefully I will come up with something great, and be loved for it… As likely as that is, I am open to any “super-creative” suggestions.

UPDATE: It turns out that they are selling isLamp.com for $1,688.00. Ridiculous.

UPDATE: I bought adjacentreality.com. Go check it out!

No more Lambdas…

I got tried of the lambdas, so I changed the name back to ‘aslamp.’ Sorry if I deeply confused anyone with my use of the Greek alphabet.

MiniPosts Back!

I decided to bring them back, in the sidebar!–and away from the main loop.

Day of the Damned

In order to fully appreciate and respect the day, one must first learn the history of it. Some may argue the exact date of it [as later discussed], but the reason behind it remains the same.

Please keep in mind that this can be considered “mythology” or “theology” depending upon your belief system(s)

Lilith, the first and mostly forgotten wife of Adam, Son of God. The reason for her leaving Adam was brought up by Adam wanting the “dominate” position during their reproduction. Lilith was outraged, uttered the Holy name of God, left the Garden of Eden, and Made her way to the Red Sea [which apparently was relatively close to the Garden of Eden]. Lilith, and her decedents [in some sort], are the only humans to be without the first “original” sin. This may give evidence to why humans, now, tend to break away from the traditionality of the “Children of God.” Continue reading
