Bamboo Lawn

Time recently published their issue talking about Global Warming, and what the general public can do to prevent it, if it really is a threat. Some scientists believe that this warming is inevitable because the Earth’s global temperature pattern may be leading to a warmer era. Time included a list of fifty-one things that you can do to lessen the apparent risk. Number twenty-six was “Plant a bamboo fence.” Continue reading

Colors are Boring

It is quite often that I feel like changing the aslamp layout to something totally different, after being inspired by numerous sites, pictures, and other objects. That feeling has come again. I made a new layout, initially called ‘Pi’ because of the use of the color #314159. I have yet to make a name for this new one. I was partially inspired by Jeriko’s i-jeriko.de. Really awesome design. I might add a bit of color later, when I find one that simply ‘clicks.’ For now, I give you ‘Pi’. Hope you enjoy.

Once again, along with any new theme, if you see any errors or problems, please let me know.

Flash…

Rummaging around looking for inspirings and found a lot of flash stuff. I generally don’t like them that much because they are too image-like. A “Marketing Service” website had one that did this little fading thing. I thought it was pretty cool. Might be trying to embed some into aslamp…

Wait a minute…

Hök, in communism the people do different amounts of work for an indifferent amount of pay. While in a democracy, the people pay an indifferent amount of money to receive a different amount of support. Does that seem very just? Or anti-communist for that matter. Maybe I’m missing something, but I came to that conclusion after thinking about my communism post a little while ago.

Is Naturalism Natural?

Please note that this was a timed essay (40 minutes) for an English class.

People have always had free will. Their fate is as interchangeable as the very clothes that are worn from day to day by the person themself. It would be impossible to successfully prove this because the question itself is a belief, and more often that not, support is not needed to continue believing in it. However, one can still try to get their point across, as unsuccessful it may be.

While sometimes it seems that the events taking place fall into their position, the official term is called a coincidence. The life as a person sees it is often influenced by the patterns that they have learned about in the past, which causes them to start planning-out their life. This is not a reality. No one is able to predict every living moment in their life. Chance and probability enter. They determine how likely it is to happen, or how often, but they can never be said for sure. Human error enters. The people that the person is involved with throughout their life come in to change what the person has so divinely decided. To believe that a person’s life is predetermined is pure ignorance and lethargic. The person will most likely not try to change anything if the outcome is going to remain the same. This can be very closely related to Communism. The workers of a Communist country can work all the same, or all different to receive the same amount of pay. They might as well just give up and die if they continue to have this attitude.

People can escape this by seizing control of their life, taking it into their own hands, as it should be. They can be something completely new, and show themselves just how easily their life changes. Effort is the only attribute needed to achieve this.

Communism

From Wikipedia:

Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a classless, stateless social organization based on common ownership of the means of production.

The general audience of America has believed that the Communist party and anything related to it are completely evil for some time now. Ever since WWII and the Cold War, the media has led us to that conclusion. Hopefully this will correct that. Communism itself started out with positively aimed motives, and a very ethical philosophy. It tries to get rid of the classes that societies have, with the rich and the poor, which is the main flaw in most countries’ governments. However, the methods that it was carried out in were corrupt. Stalin was willing to sacrifice just about anything to receive more power, killing millions of his own innocent people. I hope that in time America adopts something like this, in the sense that we will rid ourselves of the different classes, as they are causing many problems in the country.

Happy Anniversary?

As of 7:30pm on March 18th, there are exactly 300 comments, 100 posts, and 20 categories. I thought that was pretty cool and somewhat significant. I hope you feel the same joy and enlightenment that I do.
